Open Casting for Feature Film in Schenectady, NY

Note: Open casting calls in Schenectady, NY scheduled. See below.
Sidney Kimmel Entertainment is producing and financing the feature film
"The Place Beyond The Pines" starring Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper.
Auditions for the co-starring and supporting roles are underway, and talent
from Los Angeles and New York are being cast. Extras, stand-ins, and
photo doubles will take place in New York during filming.
Sidney Kimmel, Jim Tauber and Matt Berenson are serving as executive
producers for Sidney Kimmel Entertainment. Jamie Patricof will produce for
Hunting Lane Films, and Lynette Howell will oversee production for
Silverwood Films.
Derek Cianfrance will direct "The Place Beyond The Pines" from a
screenplay that he co-wrote with Ben Coccio. Cianfrance previously
directed Ryan Gosling in the hugely successful film "Blue Valentine," which
was also produced by Hunting Lane Films and Silverwood Films.
Shooting on "The Place Beyond The Pines" starts July 25, 2011 in
Schenectady, New York and will run through September, 2011.
Open Casting Call Details
The casting director for "The Place Beyond The Pines" is holding open
casting calls for actors and extras in Schenectady, NY in June, 2011. The
film needs all types and ages. Some special needs are high school kids,
Hispanic mothers, cops, lawyers, politicians, judges, detectives, doctors,
nurses, teachers, bank tellers, mechanics, and reporters. There is a lead
role available for the character "Jason" - a multiracial teenage boy.
Additional speaking roles, and numerous extras, stand-ins, and photo
doubles will be cast.
People of any ethnicity are encouraged to attend the open calls. No
previous acting or extra experience is required. These open casting calls
are free to attend.

year old boy for a LEAD ROLE in this film, however people of any

• Girls 13 to 20 yrs - June 5, 2011 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Random House Children’s Books celebrates its 8th year of their “Junie B. Jones® Stupid Smelly Bus Tour”. An open call will be held for a 6-week National tour of this popular annual show. This is an exciting, interactive, 2-person, 20-minute show followed by “in-character” book signings and will play in bookstores, libraries and theatres in cities across the USA. The show is written by Barbara Park, author of the NY Times best-selling book series JUNIE B. JONES®. Director is G. Wayne Hoffman. Rehearsals begin May 16 and the tour runs June 2-July 16.

Seeking three actors:
Junie B. Jones—precocious, bubbly, sassy and sometimes tomboy-ish 1st grader. Seeking charismatic actress with the following qualities: "Little girlish", petite (dress size 4 or smaller), 5'3" or shorter, Caucasian. This young adult actress in her ‘20s should enjoy interacting with young children as well as parents, like to travel and have a positive and fun attitude. Improvisational abilities and familiarity with the character, Junie B. Jones, are a plus.
Mr. Woo—Junie B.’s funny, friendly school bus driver who keeps Junie B. in line. Seeking an Asian-American male (other ethnicities will be considered), 20-35 years old. Asian accent is not necessary, but not a detriment either.
Junie B. Jones understudy—Actress will not tour, but will remain in NYC on call and commit to one understudy rehearsal per week.

Auditions will be held at 8th Avenue Studios, 939 8th Ave between 55th –56th Sts, 3rd floor, NYC. Open call—Friday, April 22 from 2-6pm. Sign up for the open call begins at 1p. If asked to return, callbacks will be held on Monday, April 25 from 2-6pm. Performers will be signed to Actor-ASM contracts. Salary is $500 weekly for Junie B., $400 for Mr. Woo and $300 for the Junie B. understudy. While on tour, hotel accommodations are provided as well as additional per diem for both actors. Note: As tour may have Canadian dates, a valid Passport will be required if actors are cast.
