Get ready for Fall!

Summer just arrived but if you are an actor/model you should be thinking about Fall and how busy we get starting late July/August!  Here are a few things you should be working on NOW
Positivity.   Rid your life of negativity and that includes negative people. The things we tell ourselves are some of the most powerful motivators. Don't let negative people tell you that you will never make it in this industry! Motivate yourself with positive thoughts, positive actions and positive people.
Organization. Make sure your work permit(s) are current (if you are a minor), everyone should have a current passport (lots of work in Canada among other places) and if you have other documentation that you need to work make sure they are all current and in a place where you can find them in an instant. Keep an audition log and always make sure you send thank you notes, along with  postcards reflecting recent bookings. Always keep track of what you wear to each audition. This will help you when you get a callback that you can "dress" in the exact way you went in for the initial audition but you can also see what colors seem to work (ie do you get more callbacks when you wear that blue shirt than when you wear the white one?)
Your Tools. Headshots, resumés, demo reel, website, marketing materials= are they ALL current? Are your headshots a true representation of who you look today? Are your resumes current with everything you have done? Are you listing things on your resume that are a stretch? If so, clean it up. Get back into class if you've taken time off.
Read. Read plays, screenplays, books about this industry, articles in the trades. Do you know what shows have been picked up for Fall? Do you know who are casting these new shows? If not, why not? This is your career and you need to be on top of it.
Brand.  Are you working on your brand? Do you know your brand? If you don't then this is #1 chore for you to do before Fall.

Yes. Please visit http://www.wilhelmina.com/affiliates.cfm to locate the affiliated office of Wilhelmina Models.

Why such a big name company is posting ads online?
Everybody uses it, and... it works! In addition to radio, web advertising, scouting blitzes and events, we have found posting ad's online to be an excellent tool to recruit top talent.

Do I need professional pictures?
If you have professional pictures, we will accept them, but generally we prefer Polaroid's and snapshots because they are more natural. Color photography is preferred.

What if I have an agency?
Many different models from various agencies around the globe are represented by Wilhelmina. It is customary to have them contact us. If you have a "mother agency", they must contact us in order for you to be placed here.
